Our earliest meetings were at Andrews AFB, Maryland over 40 years ago. We became the Bowie Coin Club in 1986 and on October 18th 2011 we celebrated our 25th anniversary. Our club is a very active one with a wide range of ages and collecting interests represented. Our meetings are usually the 4th Tuesday of each month at the Kenhill Center (formerly the Bowie City Hall), just off of US-50, about 15 miles east of Wash. D.C.
We have people coming as far as Baltimore and members from the following states, including:
Florida
Illinois
North Carolina
Pennsylvania
South Carolina
Tennessee
Virginia
We even have one member in Dublin, Ireland.
The monthly auctions are one of the features of the Club, with about 250-275 different lots that you can bid on...mostly U.S. but almost always some Canadian and foreign lots. Bid lots range from $5 - $500 in price, with most under $50.
We usually have some refreshments and have an annual banquet. Cost to join the club is only $15.00 yearly and it is only $5.00 for our junior members.
